PMC Election Results 2026: Vote Counting Begins at 15 Centres Across Pune After 52.42% Voter Turnout

Pune, 16th January 2026: Counting of votes for the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) general elections began at 10 am today at 15 designated counting centres across the city.

The PMC elections recorded a moderate to healthy voter turnout, with 52.42 percent of the electorate exercising their franchise by the 5.30 pm deadline on January 15, 2026.

According to official data released by the State Election Commission, Maharashtra, a total of 18,62,408 citizens voted out of 35,52,637 registered voters in Pune.

Gender-wise participation showed balanced engagement across categories.

Out of 18.32 lakh registered male voters, 9,73,503 cast their votes.
Out of 17.19 lakh registered female voters, 8,88,809 exercised their right to vote.

A total of 96 votes were recorded in the third gender category.
Voter turnout varied across the city’s 41 wards (prabhags).

Ward No. 33 (Shivane–Khadakwasla–Dhayari Part) recorded the highest turnout at 57.81 percent, followed by Ward No. 11 (Rambaug Colony–Shivtirthnagar) at 56.68 percent.

Ward No. 08 (Aundh–Bopodi) saw the lowest participation at 45.12 percent, followed by Ward No. 18 (Wanowrie–Salunkhe Vihar) at 45.54 percent.

Major constituencies reported mixed trends.
Kothrud (Ward 31): 52.07 percent
Deccan Gymkhana (Ward 29): 51.34 percent
Hadapsar (Ward 16): 52.17 percent
Kharadi–Wagholi (Ward 04): 56.48 percent

Ward No. 20
(Shankar Maharaj Math–Bibewadi), the first result of the Pune Municipal Corporation elections has been declared.

BJP candidates Rajendra Shilimkar, Tanvi Divekar, and Mansi Deshpande have secured victories from the ward. From the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), Gaurav Ghule has also emerged victorious.

Notably, Gaurav Ghule defeated BJP’s Mahendra Sundecha in a closely watched contest.

Ward No. 33: Shivane – Khadakwasala – Dhayari Part

After the counting concluded in the Pune Municipal Elections 2026 for Ward No. 33, both the NCP and BJP won seats.
