Wagholi, 9th January 2026: With civic elections scheduled for January 15, 2026, the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) candidates contesting from Ward 4 are reporting an encouraging response from residents across Kharadi, Chandan Nagar and Wagholi, where voters have been voicing the need for a change in local representation.

The NCP team comprising Nanasaheb Abanave, Vasundhara Ubale, Darshana Pathare and Sameer Bhadale has intensified its campaign through door-to-door visits, meetings with housing societies and interactions at the neighbourhood level. Their outreach has been supported by the presence of local MLA Mauli Aba Katke, who has been accompanying the candidates during public interactions and area inspections.

Residents said the MLA’s direct engagement with people have added momentum to the campaign. Several citizens remarked that his approach gives them confidence that local issues are being taken seriously and addressed at the ground level.

During campaign visits, residents pointed out that MLA Katke was seen contacting civic officials on the spot regarding complaints related to water supply, damaged roads and sanitation.

According to locals, follow-up action by the concerned departments was initiated soon after, which they viewed as a positive administrative response.

Voters across the ward have also expressed dissatisfaction with what they describe as years of neglect. Many residents said that despite having the same elected representatives for decades, core issues such as consistent water supply, proper drainage, road quality and cleanliness have remained unresolved. This sentiment, they said, has led them to consider alternatives in the upcoming municipal polls.
