PMC Elections: Jayesh Murkute Vows Integrated Development for Baner-Balewadi
Baner, 13th January 2026: Ahead of the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) elections scheduled for January 15, Jayesh Sanjay Murkute, the candidate for the Nationalist Congress Party (Sharadchandra Pawar) from Ward No. 9 (Baner-Balewadi), has made a strong appeal to voters to back educated youth leadership to solve the area’s chronic infrastructure woes.
In a direct address to the residents of the Baner-Balewadi area, where he has been socially and politically active for several years, Murkute highlighted the severe civic issues plaguing the ward. He identified road infrastructure, water scarcity, traffic congestion, waste management, and drainage failures as critical problems that have been neglected.
Murkute attributed these persistent issues to the election of “wrong representatives” in the past. He criticized current leaders for appearing disinterested in their duties, noting that an attitude of complacency has caused development projects to stall for years. “The impact of this negligence is felt by common citizens like you and me who are stuck in traffic daily,” Murkute stated.
A Vision for Integrated Infrastructure
Outlining his vision for the ward, Murkute emphasized the need for a holistic approach to urban planning. He argued that infrastructure projects often fail because they are executed in isolation.
“When building infrastructure, it is essential that storm water lines, drainage systems, water pipelines, cables, street lights, footpaths, and roads are developed together,” he explained. He pledged his word to the voters that he would work honestly to implement this integrated model if elected.
