Pune, 10 July 2020: Nitin Udas, Deputy Commissioner of the PMC vehicle Depot Department, has been infected by the coronavirus(COVID-19). He is currently undergoing treatment at home, according to the health department. Meanwhile, the number of affected employees of the municipality has risen to 218. Last week, Sunil Indalkar, Deputy Commissioner of the social development Department(PMC), was also infected with the corona. He is being treated at a private hospital.

With the cases rising at the Pune Municipal Corporation(PMC) building, several steps are being taken like open doors, screening, fewer seats for visitors, masks, sanitizers, and sipping tea through straws, to further prevent COVID-19. Not only the entry of the people at the PMC building is strictly prohibited, but strict protocols have been designed to meet any official at the PMC building.

Offices with front desks are recommended to keep a tab of the visitors. Doors are left open to avoid them from being handled. Masks are mandatory, and some officials have opted for acrylic sheets in front of their tables to stop the contamination. Ultimately, all the meetings are recommended to be set online to avoid any physical contact.
