PMPML Initiates Digital Transformation: Mobile App For Bus Ticket Booking And Live Bus Tracking In Pune

Pune, 3rd November 2023: In a significant leap towards modernization, the Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Limited (PMPML) successfully launched its mobile app, bringing convenience to passengers for ticket booking and live bus tracking. The app, which will be demonstrated next week, promises to enhance the overall commuting experience for PMPML users.

Passengers will soon have the ability to seamlessly book bus tickets through the newly launched mobile app. Furthermore, the app will provide real-time information about the live location of buses, empowering commuters to plan their journeys more efficiently.

This development follows the recent introduction of the QR code service by PMPML, enabling passengers to purchase tickets using a QR code. The addition of a mobile app fulfills a longstanding demand from passengers who sought a more accessible and user-friendly ticketing service.

PMPML has submitted a proposal to the Central Bank of India for a ‘Payment Gateway’ to facilitate online ticket bookings. Once the proposal receives approval, passengers will have the convenience of purchasing tickets directly through the app, streamlining the entire ticketing process.

Nitin Narvekar, Joint Managing Director of PMPML, expressed satisfaction with the completion of the app’s development. He stated, “The work of the PMPML app is complete, and necessary tests have been conducted. Pending the approval of the ‘Payment Gateway’ proposal by the Central Bank of India, passengers will soon be able to enjoy the benefits of online ticket booking and other features offered by the app.”
