Polling on June 23 for vacant posts in municipal corporations including New Mumbai
Mumbai, May 24: Polling for 15 vacant posts of Ulhasnagar, Navi Mumbai, Kalyan-Dombivali, Pune, Kolhapur, Nasik, Malegaon, Parbhani, and Chandrapur municipal corporations will be held on June 23. Counting will take place on June 24, said State Election Commissioner J S Saharia here today.
He said that nomination papers will be accepted from May 30 to June 6, 2019. However, no nomination papers will be accepted on June 2 and 5 being government holidays. The scrutiny will be done on June 7. The nominations can be withdrawn till June 10, 2019. The contestants will be issued election symbols on June 11, 2019. Voting will take place on June 23, 2019 from 7.30 am to 5.30 pm. Counting of votes will be taken up on May 24, 2019 at 10 am.
The corporation-wise zones to witness by-elections are: Ulhasnagar – 1B and 5A, Navi Mumbai- 29, Kalyan-Dombivali – 26, Pune – 42A, 42B (for extended area), and 1A, Kolhapur- 28 and Nasik- 10Dm Malegaon -6C, Parbhani- 11A, and 3D and Chandrapur – 6B and 13B.
