Poona College Celebrates Dr. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam’s Birth Anniversary with Book Exhibition and Open Reading Day
Camp, 20th October 2024: The Knowledge Resource Centre of Poona College of Arts, Science and Commerce organized a Book Exhibition and Open Reading Day, commemorating Dr. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam’s birth anniversary from October 15 to October 18, 2024.
The event was inaugurated by Dr. Shaikh Amjad, Vice-Principal of Poona College, and attended by esteemed college officials, including:

The library showcased its premium collection, typically reserved for the reading room, making it accessible to students. Despite ongoing examinations, over 200 students visited the exhibition, showcasing their enthusiasm for reading. The Open Reading Day encouraged both staff and students to spend time reading books, fostering a culture of learning.
The exhibition promoted reading habits among students, aligning with Dr. Kalam’s vision of nurturing knowledgeable citizens. It provided an opportunity to access rare and valuable books, enhancing the academic experience for students. The event demonstrated Poona College’s commitment to promoting literacy, knowledge, and academic excellence.
