Pune, 29th October 2024: A fire erupted around 2:02 AM on Tuesday (29th October) at a Nippon Paint warehouse spanning 15,700 square feet, with walls approximately 10 feet high, in Mantarwadi. The cause of the blaze is yet to be determined.

Fortunately, there were no reported injuries or fatalities; however, significant financial losses occurred as the fire completely destroyed paint, air conditioning units, furniture, computers, and other items within the warehouse.

Upon receiving the report, the fire brigade promptly dispatched fire engines and tankers. Firefighters quickly began dousing the flames from all sides after ensuring that no individuals were trapped inside. The fire was brought under control within about an hour, followed by cooling operations.

The paint, which is widely used in vehicles, industrial settings, and households, contributed to the severity of the fire. The intensity caused the large iron structures of the warehouse to warp. Additionally, two tempos and two motorcycles were reported to have been damaged in the incident.

Approximately 50 personnel, including Fire Officers Pramod Sonawane and Anil Gaikwad, were involved in the operation. Water tankers from various fire stations, including Kalepadal, Hadapsar, BT Kavade Road, Kondhwa, Central, PMRDA, and Amanora, were deployed to the scene.
