Poona College Organizes International Conference on Advances in Science & Technology
Pune, 10th May 2023: To draw global attention towards quality research and new advances in various fields of Science, Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) and Faculty of Science, AKI’s Poona College of Arts, Science and Commerce, Pune, organized a One Day International Conference on the topic “Advances in Science & Technology” through blended mode.
Dr. Pankaj Koinkar, Vice Director and Associate Professor from Tokushima University, Japan, was the chief guest and Keynote Speaker. Dr. Koinkar inaugurated the Conference and delivered the keynote address. He spoke on the applications of Nanotechnology. He advised scientists to work with dedication and perseverance for improving the quality of research in India and internationally. An Abstract Book was released and published by the organizers. Chairman of the Conference Principal Prof. (Dr.) Aftab Anwar gave the welcome address. Vice Principal Dr. Iqbal Shaikh introduced the guests.
The technical sessions were divided into parallel sessions that covered all specializations such as: Chemical Science, Life Science, Material Science, Earth Science and Mathematical Science. Renowned scientists belonging to prestigious institutes in Ethiopia, China, Saudi Arabia, Japan, Nepal and Taiwan joined through Google Meet. They presented motivating talks on current topics in their respective fields of research. Their aim was to inspire the young minds and make them aware of new avenues in research.
Lunch was followed by Oral Presentations. Delegates, some offline, and the rest online, presented their research work through effective PowerPoint presentations. Sessions were interactive wherein the chairpersons shared their views and gave suggestions to improve research.
This multidisciplinary conference saw the coming together of great minds, enthusiastic and young researchers, interacting and learning from each other! In total, 192 participants registered for this International Conference: 2 international, 143 from Maharashtra, 47 from other states of India such as Tamil Nadu, Himachal Pradesh, Karnataka, Rajasthan, Punjab, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Tripura, Assam and West Bengal. Under-Graduate and Postgraduate students of the college got an opportunity to meet these delegates, interact with them and learn how research can be pursued.
The One Day International Conference on Advances in Science and Technology was successful due to the efforts of the organizing committee led by Chairman of Conference, Principal Prof. (Dr.) Aftab Anwar Shaikh, Secretary of Conference and IQAC Coordinator, Vice Principal (Science) Dr. Iqbal Shaikh, Convener and Head, Department of Zoology Dr. Mujeeb Shaikh, Co-Conveners Dr. Kalim Shaikh and Dr. Zameer Ahmed. They were assisted by different committees for stage, hospitality, promotion, purchase, registration, technical and abstract & book compilation. Each member worked with dedication to make this event a grand success.
