Poona College organizes International Conference on Contemporary Computer Science related Issues
Bringing to the fore the pertinent and contemporary issues in Computer Science, Applications and Technology, an International Conference was organized by the Department of Computer Science on 18th February 2017. The Conference funded by the Yateemkhana and Madrasa, Anjuman Khairul Islam’s Trust, Mumbai received an overwhelming response with live sessions conducted by speakers located in United States and Singapore. Inaugurated by the Joint Director of Higher Education, Maharashtra State, Dr. V.P.Narkhede, delegates from USA, Austria, Norway Iran and Kingdom of Tonga in addition to those from all over India were in attendance. The Conference was efficiently coordinated by Mr. Mirza Imran Baig while it was convened by Mr. Musharraf Hussain. The proceedings began with the sacred recitation rendered by Mr. Ghulam Ahmed followed by a formal welcome accorded by the Head of the Computer Science Department, Mr. Mahtab Alam.
The Chief Guest was introduced by the Vice-Principal Dr. Aftab Anwar Shaikh while Principal Dr. M. Rafique Sarkhawas felicitated him in a traditional way. The keynote address was delivered by the Former Head of the Computer Science Department at Nowrosjee Wadia College, Pune, Dr. (Mrs) S.C.Shirwaikar who highlighted the critical aspects of the conference theme.
A live session cum interaction with the audience via Skype on the topic of IoT was conducted by Mr. Karan Kunwar located thousands of miles away at Singapore. Four volumes of the special issue of the International Journal (ISSN 2279-0489, impact factor 3.504) was released at the hands of the Chief Guest.
The technical sessions saw another live session cum interaction with the audience via Skype by the Business Analyst, Synechron Inc. Mr. Niyajuddin Sheikh, located at Washington D.C on the topic of Software Testing and Quality Management. This was followed by another Skype session by the Sr. Manager, Emerio Globe Software Pvt. Ltd., Mr. Md. Zakir Hussain based in Singapore on the topic of Project Management and life cycle. The technical sessions were conducted by reputed experts receiving a mammoth applause from the participants.
A cultural touch to the conference was given by Norwegian delegate, Ms. Christina who presented an impressive and self-composed song before the audience.
The conference ended with the impressions expressed by Iranian Delegate Ms. Azadeh Nazari Baravati, Faculty Mrs. Deeba Khanam and student Ms. Zeenat Moosa followed by the rapporteur’s report presented by faculty Ms. Farhat Shaikh. The Valedictory address delivered by the Managing Director and Co-founder, SysTools Pvt. Ltd and CloudCodes Pvt. Ltd. Pune, Mr. Debashish Pramanik which was presided over by the Director, PIMSE Dr. Shakeel Ahmed. Finally the Conference Coordinator Mr. Mirza Imran Baig proposed a vote of thanks acknowledging the contribution of every component in the organizing team.
