Poona Lions team is champion of the prestigious Oxford Premier League in the country
PUNE, 16th April 2024: The Oxford premier League’s final matches were played between the top 3 teams of group A & B . The finale matches at Oxford Golf Resort were a tight affair. Poona Lions won the match and carved their name on the Oxford premier league Cup. Final standing:
1. Poona Lions – Champions
2. Softcell Swingers – Runner Up
3. Eagle Forces – 1st Runner up
4. Zingers – 2nd Runner Up
The winning team players including owners Rajiv Pusalkar and Andrew Pinto of this year’s Oxford premier league were felicitated and awarded in the evening by President of Golf Industry Association and Chairman of Oxford Golf Resort Shri Anil Seolekar and Shri Aditya Malpani of Ace Golfing.
Along with this, a prize of 10 lakhs was also given. Also Saurabh Roy was honoured with the title of Most valuable player of the tournament .
Twelve teams from across the country participated in this league were Eagle Forces,Poona Lions,The Legacy Club, Bindaas Boys, Softcell Swingers,Dubai Falcons, Zingers,, Sultans of Swing,Roaring Tigers Nagpur, Shubbaan Sunrisers,Green Gladiators,Blistering Birdies.
Fifteen players participated in each team. A total of 180 renowned players from all over the country were participating in this league . The tournament was held at one of the country’s most picturesque and well-equipped Oxford Golf Resort . Therefore, this league gained special importance.
The six-day league was held at the Oxford Golf Resort in Pune with much fanfare.
The previous year still nationwide
On this occasion Shri Anil Seolekar announced that next year, more players and teams from across the country will be involved and this game will be brought to as many people as possible.
This year’s league has been very good and many players from all over the country have participated. Aditya Malpani of Golfing thanked all the players.
