Power Supply In Chakan To Be Cut-Off On August 15, Know Why

Pune, August 13, 2020: As the Air Liquide India Holding in Chakan needs to start the production of medical oxygen to ensure its smooth supply, District Collector in-charge Ayush Prasad has ordered that the power supply to other companies in the area will be cut off for a certain period. Because of the increasing number of COVID-19 patients in the district, there is a greater requirement of medical oxygen.

In order to provide electricity supply to Air Liquide India Holding Company to supply, the electricity supply of 132 kV Chinchwad-Chakan Power Line, 220 kV Volkswagen to 220 kV Chakan substation, and 22 kV and 132 kV power lines from the 220 kV Chakan substation will be cut off on August 15 from 9 am to 5 pm.

The power outage is likely to affect the medical oxygen production of Inox Air Products and Taiyo Sanso India Chakan. Therefore, Inox Air Products and Taiyo Sanso India Chakan have been instructed to ensure that the current supply of medical oxygen is maintained on and after August 15. The companies have been instructed to ensure unhindered medical oxygen supply to the hospitals on their list on that particular day, to see to it that there will be no inconvenience to patients.

Air Liquide India Holding is a company that produces medical oxygen in other states. Therefore, Air Liquide India Holding will be responsible for supplying medical oxygen in coordination with Inox Air Products and Taiyo Sanso Chakan to ensure a smooth supply of medical oxygen when the power supply to the latter two is off.

Maharashtra State Power Transmission Company will be responsible for completing the work within the time given to Air Liquide India Holding Company for electrical connection. Violation of this order will result in disciplinary action under the Disaster Management Act 2005.
