November,2017: AAK KamaniPvt.Ltd,India’s leading specialty oil manufacturer, organised the 2ndedition of ‘Kamani Bakery Challenge’(KBC) in Pune which saw a tremendous response and participation from some of the top bakeries in Pune city.

This year, Pradeep Sweets, Pune, won the first prize followed by Golden Bakery Puneas the runner up in the Best Healthy Cookie category, whileNew Crown Bakery, Pune,won the first prize followed byPrakash Foods, Nasik,in the Innovative Cookie category. There is also a special category of award, known as the Chefs Choice award, in which the jury of renowned chefs choose the best cookie in the Health as well as Innovative category.Winners under this category werePradeep Sweetsfor the Health andNew Crown Bakeryfor the innovative category.

Pradeep Sweets won the Best Health category as they used ingredients like Flax seeds and oatmeal, which was a good balance of health and taste. The winner in the Best Innovation category was New Crown Bakery as the product they madewas never seen before and they experimented well with the flavours.

Mr.Anees Ansari, New Crown Bakery, was ecstatic on winningthe award and he said, “It was great participating in Kamani Bakery Challenge this year and we are very happy to win the award. The awards night also saw the presence of some esteemed panel of judges for this season-Chef SelvarajMarimuthu from Westin, Pune,ChefAniketRaje from Radisson Blu, Pune,and ChefMukeshChandra from Hotel Crowne Plaza, Pune.

The short-listed products were judged by the jury on the parameters of taste and texture, design and production, health, and innovation. Tocatta Chocolate, Nasik, won the Chef’s Choice award in the health category for making Bournvita Oats Cookies and Sunrise Bakery Pune won the Chef’s Choice award in the innovation category for making Oats and Raisins Cookies.
