Prasanna Travels Founder Rayakaka Patwardhan passed away

Pune, 24th January 2022: Keshav Waman Patwardhan, popularly known as Rayakaka Patwardhan, the founder of Prasanna Travels passed away today due to old age. He was 91.

He is survived by his wife, two sons and their families. He founded Prasanna Travels in 1964. He was also involved in the milk business for some time and worked as an employee of Pune Municipal Corporation in his career. He was known for sincerity, punctuality and honesty. These qualities helped him to grow in business. He was the President of famous Jilbya Maruti Ganesh Mandal for 20 years. He was a Kabaddi player and was part of Railway’s Kabaddi team for some time.

His younger son Prasanna Patwardhan expanded the travel business across  the country by the name of Prasanna Purple. He is currently serving as the President of Bus & Car Operators Confederation of India;

His elder son Dr Bhushan Patwardhan is the ex Vice Chairman of University Grants Commission (UGC) and was also the advisor to Ayush Ministry. Currently he is active in the education sector. Rayakaka encouraged his nephew Shriram Bhave to start a restaurant business which is now a popular chain of restaurants by the name of Wadeshwar.
