Prepaid Autorickshaw Services Will Soon Be Available From Three Locations In Pune City
Pune, 7th February 2023: Along with Pune railway station, the traffic police have planned to start prepaid autorickshaw services in Swargate and Wakdewadi ST bus stand areas. For this, the traffic police have coordinated with the Regional Transport Office (RTO) and the railway administration. At the same time, discussions have been held with some rickshaw associations. Therefore, the looting of passengers in crowded places will stop.
Passengers are intercepted by autorickshaw drivers in the railway station and other parts of the city. Complaints such as refusal of close fares, charging more than metered fare, and misbehavior with passengers is increasing day by day. Citizens do not complain as the process of filing a complaint against autorickshaw drivers is complicated, But for the past few days, citizens have been demanding that prepaid autorickshaws should be started in the city.
The railway administration had also discussed with DCP (Traffic) Vijay Magar and demanded to start prepaid rickshaw service from Pune station. Along with this, a former member of RTO Baba Shinde, and other members had met the Deputy Commissioner of Traffic Police and demanded to start prepaid rickshaws at Pune railway station and crowded places.
Accordingly, the traffic police have given the green light to start the prepaid rickshaw service. This service will be started in three places in the next ten to fifteen days. This will give great relief to the passengers.
DCP Magar said, “There was a demand to start prepaid autorickshaws at Pune railway stations and crowded places. For the convenience of passengers, the service will be started at Pune Railway Station, Swargate, Wakdewadi Bus Stand area.”
