Prime Minister Modi’s Shirdi Visit Marks Inauguration Of Crucial Infrastructure Projects Worth Rs 7500 Crores In Maharashtra

Shirdi, 26th October 2023: Shirdi witnessed a momentous day as Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated and dedicated multiple development projects, amounting to approximately Rs 7500 crores, in sectors such as health, rail, road, oil, and gas. 

The projects spanned across Ahmednagar, Maharashtra, including the inauguration of the Ayush Hospital at Ahmednagar Civil Hospital and the electrification of the Kurduwadi-Latur Road railway section covering 186 km.

Furthermore, the Prime Minister laid the foundation stone for key initiatives, including the Maternal & Child Health Wing at Ahmednagar Civil Hospital. Notable among the inaugurated projects were the 3rd & 4th railway lines connecting Jalgaon to Bhusaval (24.46 km), the four-laning of the Sangli to Borgaon section of NH-166 (Package-I), and additional facilities at the Manmad Terminal of Indian Oil Corporation Limited.

In a symbolic gesture, Prime Minister Modi distributed Ayushman cards and Svamitva cards to beneficiaries, emphasizing the government’s commitment to the welfare of the citizens. The event also marked the inauguration of the new Darshan Queue complex at Shirdi, providing enhanced facilities for devotees.

Addressing the audience, the Prime Minister expressed gratitude for the completion of the long-pending Nilwande Dam project, emphasizing its significance in addressing water scarcity issues. He highlighted the government’s focus on social justice, citing initiatives such as the distribution of Ayushman cards, free ration to the poor, and the construction of pucca houses.

Prime Minister Modi underscored the importance of agricultural empowerment, discussing schemes like PM Kisan Samman Nidhi and the recently launched ‘Namo Shetkari Mahasanman Nidhi Yojana.’ He emphasized the government’s commitment to completing irrigation projects and strengthening the cooperative movement.

Concluding his address, the Prime Minister envisioned a prosperous Maharashtra leading to a prosperous India. He acknowledged the expansion of railway networks, improved road connectivity, and the positive impact on industries and farmers in the region.

The event was attended by dignitaries including Governor of Maharashtra, Ramesh Bais, Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Eknath Shinde, and Deputy Chief Ministers, Devendra Fadnavis and Ajit Pawar. The new Darshan Queue complex at Shirdi, equipped with modern amenities, aims to enhance the overall experience for devotees.
