New Delhi, 2nd November 2024: Prime Minister Narendra Modi took a strong stance against the Congress Party, accusing it of making “unreal promises” that ultimately prove challenging or impossible to fulfill. According to the Prime Minister, while it may be easy for the Congress to make promises during their election campaigns, they consistently fall short when it comes to implementing these pledges in a meaningful way.

The Prime Minister asserted that these recurring instances have led to the Congress Party being “badly exposed” before the people, as their unfulfilled promises come under scrutiny.

Modi pointed to several Congress-governed states – specifically Himachal Pradesh, Karnataka, and Telangana – as examples of the alleged shortcomings. In these states, he claimed, the “developmental trajectory and fiscal health” have deteriorated significantly, with many of the “so-called Guarantees” remaining unfulfilled. According to Modi, this failure to deliver on promises has negatively impacted various groups, including the poor, young people, farmers, and women, who not only miss out on new benefits but often see their existing schemes diluted.

In Karnataka, Modi claimed that Congress is more focused on internal party politics and, in his words, “loot” than on delivering development initiatives. He alleged that the party is even planning to roll back existing welfare schemes. The situation in Himachal Pradesh was described by Modi as similarly bleak, with government employees reportedly facing delays in receiving their salaries. In Telangana, he highlighted that farmers are still waiting for the loan waivers that the Congress had previously promised.

Modi went on to cite past instances from Chhattisgarh and Rajasthan, where the Congress had allegedly promised allowances that went unimplemented for the entirety of a five-year term. According to him, such cases illustrate a broader pattern in the Congress Party’s approach to governance.

He also urged the people of the country to remain vigilant against what he referred to as the “Congress-sponsored culture of fake promises.” Referring to the recent Haryana elections as an example, Modi suggested that voters there rejected Congress’ “lies” and opted for a government that is “stable, progress-oriented, and action-driven.”

Modi concluded his statement by noting that there is a growing awareness across India regarding the pitfalls of supporting the Congress Party, describing a “vote for Congress” as synonymous with “non-governance, poor economics, and unparalleled loot.”

According to him, the people of India desire development and progress, rather than “the same old #FakePromisesOfCongress.”
