Pune, 2nd September 2021: In the seventeenth survey conducted by Mahratta Chamber of Commerce Industries and Agriculture (MCCIA) during the Covid times, it has been found that the production level has increased to 83% in companies located in the Pune district. Over 150 organisations participated in this survey.

MCCIA president Sudhir Mehta said, “It is encouraging to see the month on month recovery. We have now reached about the levels we recorded just before the start of the second wave in February 2021. With increasing vaccination and unlocking we should reach the pre-covid level by end of this year.”

“While the recovery is indeed encouraging, many manufacturers are facing challenges on the increased raw material prices and exponential rise in freight charges for their exports. The impact of semiconductor chip unavailability is especially hitting the auto industry production as Pune has a significant auto industry”, added Prashant Girbane, DG, MCCIA.
