“Promises” by Sunaina Khera was a collection of stylish creations at The Atelier during Lakmé Fashion Week Summer/Resort 2020

Mumbai : Eloquent in expression and deep in thought, “Promises” by Sunaina Khera at The Atelier during Lakmé Fashion Week Summer/Resort 2020, was a beautiful reminder that love is beyond everything.

Inspired by a letter written to her by her best friend, where she asks her to design her wedding outfit, Sunaina innovatively married distinct touches of androgyny with glamorous femininity, as the range came alive on the ramp with glitz and glamour.

Revealing her elegant bridal line, which started with stylish cocktail creations then moved onto date night ensembles finally ended in the gorgeous bridal extravaganza.

To a very appreciative audience, Sunaina ensured that each silhouette was a unique trendsetter. With a colour palette as interesting as its name, tints and tones of blush to red and hints of silver and grey were mesmerizingly used to narrate a story. A lavish sprinkling of 3D motifs that were intricately hand embroidered like flowers, blossomed on the surface of the creations. The repeat patterns and motifs had a lot of symbolism so the infinity sign appeared to celebrate the great events.

A sheer, peach, floor-grazing dress with ruffled tiers featured linear sequins work in black that was styled with a peach bralette. An enchanting translucent saree in a striking red shade with heavily embellished borders and a sleeveless, satin, red blouse with bow detailing at the back was spotted on the ramp.

Ensuring that her body art was deliciously decadent and functionally fashionable, the line reflected immense beauty and elegance. With an innovative take on Indian bridal couture, “Promises” aimed at depicting emotions raw and unaltered, by using silhouettes for a canvas.

For a show-stopping dress, the model glided on the runway in a regal, red blouse styled with a shiny red, voluminous lehenga with latkans at the waist. The heavy dupatta featured 3D bloomy appliqués that gave the outfit an opulent look.
