Pune, 3rd May 2025: The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has initiated the distribution of property tax bills for the current financial year. Over 12.5 lakh bills have been prepared and dispatched to property owners via the postal department. Pratibha Patil, Deputy Commissioner of the Property Tax Department stated that in just the first two days, citizens have contributed ₹5 crore in revenue to the municipal treasur.

Traditionally, PMC issues property tax bills from 1st April every year. However, this year, due to pending decisions on PT-3 applications—necessary for availing a 40% tax concession—the process was delayed by a month. The new deadline to pay the bill and avail of various concessions is 30th June.

Patil urged all eligible property owners to make use of the available discounts and pay their bills within the deadline. In addition to physical delivery, PMC has also directed that payment notifications be sent to property owners via SMS.

To receive the 40% rebate, applicants must submit a PT-3 form. Only those whose forms have been approved will benefit from the discount. Citizens whose applications were rejected due to incomplete documentation have been advised to reapply. Once deemed eligible, they too will receive the concession.

Acknowledging that some citizens may raise objections or have queries about the bills, Patil instructed officials from each ward property tax office to remain present in their respective offices and resolve complaints locally. She noted that when officers are absent, citizens are forced to visit the PMC’s main office unnecessarily. To avoid such inconvenience, strict orders have been issued to ensure officials stay at their posts. Patil also warned of disciplinary action against officers or staff found to be absent during office hours.
