Mercedes Crashes into Bike on Pune-Bangalore Highway, One Dead; Car Falls Off Wadgaon Bridge

Narhe, 3rd May 2025: In an incident on the Pune-Bangalore Highway early Saturday morning, a speeding Mercedes car collided with a Splendor motorcycle near Vishal Hotel at Wadgaon Bridge, resulting in the death of the bike rider and injuries to the pillion rider.
The deceased has been identified as Kunal Manoj Hushar (23), a resident of Chinchwad. Prajyot Deepak Pujari (21) of Chinchwad, who was the pillion rider on the bike MH 12 VH 4340, has sustained injuries.
According to DCP (Zone 3) Sambhaji Kadam of Pune Police, the accident occurred around 4:30 AM when the Mercedes rammed into the two-wheeler going in the Mumbai lane. “Following the collision, the Mercedes broke through the barricade on Wadgaon Bridge and fell onto the service road below. The vehicle suffered extensive damage,” said DCP Kadam.
The rider of the motorcycle succumbed to injuries, while the pillion is undergoing treatment. The occupants of the Mercedes sustained minor injuries, reportedly cushioned by the airbags.

Shubham Rajendra Bhosale (driver) (27) of Nigdi
Pune Police have registered a case under Section 105 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (culpable homicide). “Two of the accused are currently in custody, while two others have been admitted to the hospital for treatment,” DCP Kadam added.
The family members of the deceased have alleged that the driver of the car was drunk and that police were not doing medical tests.
DCP Kadam stated that the medical examination of the accused has been conducted and swift action has been taken in the matter.
Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash, including whether the driver was under the influence or speeding at the time.
