PSI Abhijit Sawant Of Pune Rural Being Honored DG Insignia For Outstanding Service

Pune, 30th April 2024: In the police department, the prestigious DG Insignia award is bestowed upon the officers for their exceptional contributions to the force, especially those with a spotless track record. This year, Abhijit Sawant from the Local Crime Branch of Pune Rural Police is set to receive the esteemed “DG Insignia” for his extraordinary contribution to the Maharashtra Police force.
Abhijit Sawant has been recognized for his outstanding performance within the police force, which includes notable achievements in investigating local crimes and proactive action on Criminals and Offenders. The commendation badge will be bestowed upon him on May 1, Maharashtra Day, in honor of his extraordinary service. The “DG INSIGNIA” medal is awarded to him for his resolute policing actions against criminals and taking serious crime investigations to a conclusion as per Law.
The DG Insignia recognition encompasses various levels, with Abhijit Sawant’s contributions falling under Category 3. Only a select few officers and constables are chosen for this honor, as determined by experts and retired police officers. Serving in the Pune Rural Police’s Local Crime Branch, Abhijit Sawant was appointed as a police sub-inspector in 2015.
Despite his relatively brief tenure, he has earned recognition for his significant contributions and notable achievements while stationed in Sangli and Pune Rural Police. In acknowledgement of his exceptional service, he has also been honored with 150 rewards at various Public Events.
