Pune: Kidnapped 6-Month-Old Child Sold In Karnataka, Now Rescued By Police

Pune, 30th April 2024: In a decisive operation, the Bundgarden Police Station, Pune police, rescued the kidnapped 6-month-old Shravan Telang from a couple in Karnataka. The infant was kidnapped from Pune Railway Station in the early hours of April 27.

According to Senior Police Inspector Sandipan Pawar, with meticulous technical analysis of mobile phone data and scrutiny of CCTV footage, investigators traced the accused. It was determined that the child had been transported to Indi in Bijapur district of Karnataka, and subsequently to Bijapur in a four-wheeler vehicle.

Responding with urgency, a team of dedicated officers was dispatched to the identified locations to track down the child and apprehend the perpetrators. Among them was accused Chandrasekhar Malakappa Nalugandi, a 24-year-old resident of Jambagi, Bijapur, Karnataka, along with his associates.

After intense interrogation, valuable leads emerged, directing the investigation towards a certain Subhash Putappa Kamble, aged 55, from Lawangi, South Solapur district. Following up on this lead, authorities received crucial information indicating Kamble’s presence in a Bijapur city hotel.

Acting swiftly on this intelligence, officers raided the hotel, where they caught the accused and successfully rescued the child.
