Pimple Nilakh, 17th November 2022: At Rakshak Chowk in Pimple Nilakh (ward no. 26) along the BRTS road, a 100-foot-tall Indian flag will be hoisted after getting permission from the Union Ministry of Home Affairs. For a long time, soldiers and inhabitants of the Aundh military camp have demanded that an Indian flag be raised at Rakshak Chowk.

This demand was made by soldiers and locals because of the Indian flag’s significance as a symbol of patriotism and devotion and Rakshak Chowk’s location as a major military camp base. Recently, the union ministry sent a letter about this to the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC).

Union Home Secretary Prem Prakash has granted permission to permanently raise a 100-foot Indian flag at Rakshak Chowk after taking into consideration the aforementioned application and receiving consent for it. Shekhar Singh, the municipal commissioner, has worked to meet this demand. A proposal was addressed to the lieutenant colonel of the 330 infantry brigade’s military headquarters, Aundh, on behalf of the local civic body.

The construction of ancillary works are included in the budget that has been suggested for this project.
