Pune: 10,000 people travelled in autorickshaws since lockdown 1
Pune, June 3, 2020: After the restrictions were imposed on the use of vehicles in the city, Pune city police traffic branch and CityGlide Auto launched ‘Dial an Autorickshaw’ initiative to help people commute in an emergency and travel to Pune airport and railway station. Till now over 10,000 people have benefited from this service.
CityGlide Auto CEO Rahul Shitole tweeted, “On 25th March, CityGlideAuto and Traffic Branch of Pune City Police started ‘Dial an Auto’ service for Punekars to get a commute at Govt Cost… Till date 357 Auto Rickshaws were permitted, in last 65 days #CityGlideAuto helped 10,000+ people reach their destination ON TIME, at RIGHT COST”.
He further added, “Gross income of these 357 driver’s crossed to INR 50,30,500 and 200 drivers are insured with Covid-19 policy. Credit for all this goes to Pune Police, Airport Authority of India’s Pune airport and all 357 autorickshaw drivers.”
People in Pune and Pimpri Chinchwad can make a booking for the autorickshaw by dialling 9859198591 or by filling Google form. You don’t need a separate pass from police for airport travel as your boarding pass will be considered by police for the travel.
