Pune: 12th Indian Students’ Parliament To Be Held From 15th to 17th September

Pune, 8th September 2022: The Indian Students’ Parliament will be held in association with the Indian Students’ Parliament Foundation, MIT School of Government, and MIT World Peace University, Pune. It is being organized from 15th September to 17th September 2022 at Swami Vivekananda Sabhamandap, MIT World Peace University, Kothrud, Pune.

 

This student parliament has been organized every year since 2011 and this is the twelfth year of the students’ parliament.

 

 

 

It will start on 15th September 2022 at 11 am and conclude on Saturday, 17th September. The three-day-long student parliament will be attended by the Minister of State for Law and Justice, Government of India, S.P. Singh Baghel, J.K. Anant Singhania, CEO of the industry group and president of IMC Chamber of Commerce Industry, environmentalist, green activist, and founder of Himalayan Environmental Scientist and Conservation Society, Padma Bhushan Dr. Anil Prakash Joshi, former Chairman of ISRO, Dr. Kailasavadivu Sivan, renowned classical singer Smt. Kaushiki Chakraborty, famous actress and former Rajya Sabha MP Roopa Ganguly, former DIRECTOR of CBI, D. R. Karthikeyan, Aam Aadmi Party National Spokesperson, and Rajya Sabha MP Raghav Chadha, eminent journalist, political commentator Shri Rashid Kidwai, Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh, Speaker of Maharashtra Legislative Assembly Rahul Narvekar, State Finance Minister, Government of India Dr. Bhagwat Kishanrao Karad, Lok Sabha MP Manish Tewari, Lalantap Editor Saurabh Dwivedi, Rajya Sabha MP Imran Pratapgarhi, columnist and writer Vikram Sampat, renowned musician and singer Shankar Mahadevan, journalist, writer Paranjoy Guha Thakurta, BJP’s national spokesperson and member and retired IPS Bharati Ghosh along with several eminent personalities from the political, social, media, acting and industry sectors will address the youth audience at the three-day long 12th Indian Students’ Parliament.

World-renowned scientist and Padma Vibhushan Dr. Raghunath Mashelkar, Shri. Tushar Gandhi, Prof. Dr. Vishwanath da. Karad, Anu Aga, Abhay Firodia, Justice N. Santosh Hegde, Lobsang Sangay, Mark Tully, and Dr. Vijay Bhatkar is the mentor of this student parliament. Apart from the opening and closing ceremonies of the Student Parliament, six sessions have been organized in this Student Parliament. The sessions in Parliament are as follows:

 

Session 1: Where is the freedom of speech-Lakshman line?

 

Session 2: Dynasty – The bitter truth of every political party?

 

Session 3: Democracy and Corporatism – Who has the power?

 

Session 4: Less Indian more Western: The Changing Nature of Indian Cinema

 

Session 5: The rule of noise or the rule of law in the Indian media?

 

Session 6: Is it time for a uniform civil code?

 

Apart from this, two special ‘networking’ sessions have also been organized.

 

The Indian Students’ Parliament was started in 2011 with the aim of bringing about a revolutionary change in the mindset of the young generation, inspiring them to participate in public activities for the cause of nation and society-building. The founding president of MIT World Peace University, Prof. Dr. Vishwanath Karad is the mentor of this student parliament. Student Parliament is a non-political initiative and has no connection with any political party. The Student Parliament is the only and the largest training class in the country to produce future political leaders. Through this Parliament, the attitude of the youth towards politics, political leaders, and democracy is changing. More than 10 thousand enthusiastic students from different colleges across the country will be participating in this student parliament.
