Pune: 13 Devotees Injured As Truck Overturns Due To Brake Failure
Pune, 7th October 2022: According to police, 13 devotees on their way to the temple town of Alandi in the Pune district were injured when the truck they were travelling in overturned on Shindawane ghat on Thursday evening.
According to the Business Standard and Press Trust of India, about two dozen devotees from Aurangabad district in central Maharashtra were driving towards Alandi in a truck after praying at a temple in Jejuri near Pune city. “While negotiating a slope in Shindawane ghat, the vehicle’s brakes failed. The driver tried to halt the truck, but it skidded in loose soil and overturned, injuring 13 devotees,” said an officer of the Loni Kalbhor Police Station.
Reportedly, the pilgrims sustained minor injuries that are being treated after they were taken to a hospital nearby.
