Pune: 14-Year-Old Girl Raped by Ex-Landlord’s Son, Left Pregnant
Pune, 11th March 2025: A shocking case of rape has come to light in Pune’s Katraj area, where a 14-year-old girl, an 8th-grade student, was raped by Bhushan Vinod Salunkhe, the son of her former landlord. The incident was exposed when the girl became pregnant, prompting her to confide in her parents, who then filed a complaint with the Ambegaon Police Station.
The police have arrested the accused for offences under relevant sections of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses Act (POCSO) of 2012.
According to the police FIR, the minor girl had previously lived in a rented property owned by Vinod Salunkhe but moved out last year due to a rent increase. She regularly commuted to school by bus from the Katraj Bus Stop. One day, while waiting for her bus, Bhushan Salunkhe approached her in his Mahindra Thar car and offered to drop her at school, leveraging their acquaintance.
However, he took her to a friend’s residence, where he forcibly raped her and threatened her not to reveal the incident to anyone. The girl’s pregnancy led to the crime being exposed, resulting in a case being registered. The Ambegaon Police have taken the accused into custody.
