Pune: 140 Officers Complete Defence Services Technical Staff Course

Pune, 30 April 2021: 140 tri-services officers including four Sri Lankan officers passed out on 30 Apr 21 on successful completion of the Defence Service Technical Staff Course (DSTSC) at the Military Institute of Technology, Pune. 

The DSTSC is conducted for all arms of the Indian Armed Forces to prepare mid-level officers for Command and Staff appointments. The present course was conducted from 06 Jul 20 to 30 Apr 21.

Maj Gen Hari Singh, VSM, was the Chief Guest at a scaled down Valedictory Function attended by few faculty officers and award winners, in view of the COVID-19 pandemic. Delivering the valedictory address, the Commandant stressed upon the officers to remain continually abreast with emerging technologies so as to facilitate appropriate induction of equipment in the Armed Forces.

Moreover, with the thrust on ‘Make in India’, he advised the officers to be realistic in the formulation of technical requirements so that more projects are fructified.
