15-Year-old Girl Rescued From Debris Of Her Collapsed House In Phugewadi

Pimpri Chinchwad, 28 August 2021: Members of a family in Phugewadi had a narrow escape today as their two-storied old house collapsed. While other members escaped, a 15-year-old girl was rescued after hours of effort.

 

The incident took place around 9.45 am near Jai Maharashtra Chowk in Shri Swami Samarth Nagar locality of Phugewadi. The upper floor of a two-storey house made of mud and wood had fallen on the lower floor.

 

After getting information, fire brigade teams from Bhosari and Pimpri were rushed to the spot. Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone 1) Manchak Ippar also arrived with his team to control the crowd. PCMC Additional Commissioner Vikas Dhakne was also present to supervise the rescue operation.

 

While other family members fled out of the house, Kumari Pournima alias Ashu Sambhaji Madke who was bathing could not run out immediately when the building collapsed, so she was stuck.

A total of 50 firefighters and trainees completed the rescue operation in three hours. It took time to rescue as utensils and other building materials were falling down.

 

Fire Officers Rishikant Chipade and Pratap Chavan led the fire brigade teams.
