Pune, August 17, 2020: The School Education Department has announced online video classes for students studying from Class 5 to 12. However, this plan of the government to help students learn digitally may not be as helpful as envisioned because of the unavailability of mobile devices in many rural areas.

In an initiative, Alina Mirchandani, a 16-year-old girl of Hadapsar, has started collecting old devices to provide digital access to underprivileged children in these difficult times. “I have begun this project in association with Rotary Club of Poona Airport, and you can donate your old devices such as- smartphones, computer laptops, and tablets. We can have your devices collected from your residence,” said Alina while speaking to Punekarnews.in.

She added, “All devices collected through this initiative will be donated to children supported by the Club. We began the collection on August 15 and will do the collection till 25th of August. If anybody is unable to donate a device, they are welcome to donate money directly to the rotary club, which will go towards acquiring these devices.”

Your old devices could help students log in to online classes and make a difference in their lives. You can contact on phone number 9823433449 for your donations.
