Pune: 18 Stolen Two-Wheelers Seized By Hinjawadi Police, Two Persons Arrested

Hinjawadi, 2nd August 2023: The officials from Hinjawadi Police Station under Pimpri Chinchwad Police have successfully apprehended the culprits involved in a vehicle theft case that originated in the Pandavnagar area of Hinjawadi, linked to Parbhani.

The accused, identified as Ravi Parameshwara Dhandge and Vikas Uddhav Dhandge from Pathargavan, Pathari, District Parbhani, were arrested, and the police managed to seize 18 two-wheelers with an estimated worth of Rs 5 lakh 40 thousand from them.

The investigation into the case commenced after a two-wheeler was stolen in broad daylight in front of a company on July 19. Following the incident, a case was registered at the Hinjawadi Police Station.

Subsequently, the police reviewed CCTV footage from the Hinjawadi to Supa region, which revealed a recurring pattern of vehicle thefts within the jurisdictions of Hinjawadi and Wakad police stations. Determined to capture the culprits, the police team diligently examined 350 CCTV footage from the area. Police Constable Palve played a vital role in providing essential information about the suspect’s identity.

Further investigations revealed that Ravi Dhandge frequently traveled from Pathargavan in Parbhani district to the Pandavnagar area of Hinjawadi, where he stole two-wheelers and then transported them to the village. Acting on this information, the police took Ravi Dhandge into custody. During interrogation, Ravi confessed to selling the stolen two-wheelers to Vikas Dhandge.

Subsequently, Dhandge was detained, and investigations revealed that Ravi was involved in multiple two-wheeler thefts, while Uddhav Dhandge was responsible for selling the stolen vehicles to farmers, promising to provide vehicle documents within two days. Further investigations also indicated that Uddhav had sold the stolen two-wheelers to 15 individuals. Additionally, the police found three more stolen two-wheelers stored at Ravi’s relatives’ house.

The investigation expanded to reveal involvement in multiple vehicle thefts across different police station jurisdictions, including Hinjawadi, Wakad, Sahakarnagar, Vishrambagh, Selu, Manawat, Nanalpet, Majalgaon, and more.

The action was taken under the guidance of Commissioner of Police Vinoy Kumar Choubey, Joint Commissioner of Police Sanjay Shinde, Additional Commissioner of Police Vasant Pardeshi, DCP (Zone-2) Kakasaheb Dole, and ACP Dr. Vishal Hire. The team included Senior PI Vivek Muglikar, Police Inspectors (Crime) Sunil Dahifale, Sonyabapu Deshmukh, and Assistant Police Inspectors Sagar Kate, Ram Gomare and police personnel Bandu Marne, Bapu Dhumal, Balkrishna Shinde, Kailas Kengle, Kunal Shinde, Retesh Koli, Arun Narle, Srikant Chavan, Chandrakant Gade, Naresh Balsane, Amar Rane, Karbhari Palve, Omprakash Kamble, Dattatraya Shide and Sagar Pandit.
