Pune, June 12, 2020: A special charter flight carrying around 180 passengers from Dubai will be landing at Pune airport on Sunday.  As per the information shared by an official, “The airline FlyDubai carrying around 180 Indian passengers, mostly from Pune, will land on Sunday at around 12.40 pm.”

The flight has been arranged by an Indian businessman based in Dubai, Rahul Tulpule. He is also the vice president of the Maharashtrian Business Forum. He made this possible after talks with the Indian Consulate and the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), Government of India.

Due to COVID-19 lockdown, many Indians are stuck in different countries. The Government of India and the Ministry of Civil Aviation launched ‘Vande Bharat’ mission on May 7, 2020, to bring the stranded Indians back. However, no airline connected Maharashtra to the UAE. As per the report, 27 flights have been connected with Mumbai, but they are all from different countries.
