Pune: 19-Year-Old Dies After Water Tanker Hits Scooter in Mohammadwadi
Mohammadwadi, 5th April 2026: A 19-year-old youth lost his life in a road accident involving a water tanker in the Mohammadwadi area of Pune on Sunday evening.
The incident took place around 5 pm near Cloud Nine. According to police, a water tanker bearing registration number MH43-BG-6210 allegedly hit a two-wheeler from behind. The tanker was reportedly being driven at high speed by Ravindra Bhimrao Danane (34).
The two-wheeler rider, Ariz Shaikh (19), who was travelling on a TVS Jupiter (MH12QZ5521), suffered serious injuries in the crash. Local residents and passersby rushed him to Ruby Hall Clinic in Wanowrie for treatment.
However, doctors declared him dead upon arrival.
Police from Kalepadal Police Station detained the tanker driver soon after the accident. A case has been registered and further investigation is underway.
Senior Police Inspector Mansing Patil confirmed the incident and said that the circumstances leading to the accident are being examined.
