Pune: 2 Persons Arrested For Demanding Rs 1.26 Lakh Extortion From Contractor At Aeromall Under Guise Of Mathadi Organisation

Pune, 26th January 2023: The Anti-Extortion Cell (AEC) 2 of the Pune city police Crime Branch has arrested two persons for trying to extort Rs 1.26 lakh from a contractor of stores in Aeromall under the guise of Mathadi organisation. Their third accomplice is absconding.

According to the police, the complainant (age 40 years) contractor has a work order for the loading and unloading of goods for Zudio Stores and Pizza Hut located at  The accused Sanket Dilip Gavli (29) of Viman Nagar, Arun Shankar Bodde (48) of Dhanori and Nitin Eknath Kamble of Lohegaon, were stopping him from carrying out the work. They threatened to kill Chavan and demanded Rs 26,000 per month and Rs one lakh for two work orders.

After Chavan lodged a complaint with the AEC-2, Police Inspector Pratap Mankar laid a trap and nabbed the two accused while accepting Rs 26,000. An FIR has been registered against the accused at the Vimantal police station.

The action was taken under the guidance of Additional Commissioner of Police (Crime) Ramnath Pokle, DCP (Crime) Amol Zende, ACP-2 Narayan Shirgaonkar. The team included Inspector Mankar, API Changdeo Sajgane, PSI Shrikant Chavan, Mohandas Jadhav and police personnel Vijay Gurav, Pradip Shitole, Shailesh Surve, Vinod Salunke, Sangram Shingare, Saidoba Bhojrao, Sachin Ahiwale, Amol Pilane, Chetan Apte, Anil Mengde, Pavan Bhosale and Asha Kolekar.
