Pune, 26th January 2023: In order to build confidence among traders and industries against harassment by Mathadi organizations, Pune police organized a meeting of industries, IT firms, trade associations, Maratha Chamber of Commerce Industries, and Agriculture.

Commissioner of Police Retesh Kumaarr assured them of security for conducting business in a fear-free environment. Around 120 delegates were present at the meeting. They informed about extortion collection by criminal gangs, unreasonable demand of money from Mathadi workers, bullying, etc.

Police Commissioner Kumaarr instructed all DCPs and Police Stations to take strict action in this matter. “You can meet senior police officers to file complaints”, he appealed.

Rajesh Mate, head of the Mathadi union, informed the delegates about the Maharashtra Mathadi Hammal and other Manual Workers (Regulation of employment and welfare) Act 1969. “If anyone has a complaint they can approach us and we will it put up before the Mathadi board for further action”, he assured.
