Pune: 21-Year-Old Man And Minor Companion Confess To Murder Of Woman Whose Body Was Found In Kondhwa
Pune, 4th January 2023: After pictures of an unnamed woman’s mangled and half-naked body discovered in a remote area of Kondhwa went viral on social media on Monday, a 21-year-old youngster and his minor companion showed up at the Kondhwa police station (Pune city police) and confessed to the murder.
On Monday morning, a body of a woman whose identification has not yet been determined was discovered in the Kausar Baug region. The body was discovered by Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) sanitation employees as they were cleaning the area. They alerted the police, who arrived quickly. The police discovered several cuts on the hand, face, and head of the half-undressed body while conducting the inquiry panchnama. A case of murder was registered by the police.
The main challenge in solving the case was the lack of hints to allow the authorities to identify both the victim and the criminals. However, some of the onlookers who had gathered there had taken pictures of the dismembered body, which quickly went viral on social media. After learning that pictures of the deceased body had gone viral, the culprits, Jahed Shaikh (21) and his underage buddy were overcome with shame and panic, according to police officer Sudhir Manohalkar, who was instrumental in solving the crime.
Rupali Chakankar, the head of the State Women’s Commission, has in the meanwhile ordered the police to conduct a comprehensive investigation into the horrible occurrence.
Police have assured thorough investigation and identification of the woman. Further information is awaited from officials.
