Pune: 21-Year-Old Student Jumps from Sant Tukaram Nagar Metro Station, Critical

Pimpri Chinchwad, 24th February 2025: In a shocking incident, a 21-year-old student attempted suicide by jumping from Sant Tukaram Nagar Metro Station around 6 p.m. He is in critical condition and has been admitted to Yashwantrao Chavan Memorial (YCM) Hospital in Pimpri.
The student is pursuing a Bachelor of Computer Science (BCS) undergraduate course at DY Patil College in Pradhikaran. While the exact reason for the attempt is unclear, his friends mentioned that he was under financial strain and facing monetary pressure from his family. However, since he is academically strong, they believe his studies were not a contributing factor, police reported.
Senior Police Inspector Ashok Kadlag, in charge of Pimpri Police Station, stated, “The incident occurred around 6 p.m. The boy is in critical condition and is admitted to YCM Hospital. He is a 21-year-old BCS student at DY Patil College. His friends have mentioned financial strain within the family, but nothing is confirmed yet. We are investigating the matter further.”
