Pune: 21-Year-Old Youth Arrested For Molesting Minor Girl From Manipur
Kondhwa, 26th July 2023: A 16-year-old girl from Manipur, who had come to Pune in search of work, was subjected to molestation in the Kondhwa area. The police acted promptly and arrested a 21-year-old youth identified as Altaf Nazir Khan, a resident near Malwil Masjid, Kondhwa Khurd, in connection with the case.
The minor girl lodged a complaint with the Kondhwa police station narrating the harrowing incident. She arrived in Pune about a month ago along with her three sisters, seeking employment opportunities. The four sisters took a room on rent in a building located in the Kondhwa area, where they were residing.
The incident occurred when the young girl was leaving the building’s staircase during the night. At that moment, the accused, Khan, forcefully pushed her, causing her to lose her balance. Subsequently, he attempted to sexually assault the minor girl. In her struggle, the girl screamed for help, alerting her sister, who rushed out of their room upon hearing the distressing cries. Khan, sensing danger, fled the scene.
Fortunately, the police responded promptly to the situation and managed to apprehend Khan after he attempted to escape. Assistant Police Inspector Rajesh Usgaonkar is leading the investigation into the incident.
