Pune: 236 players for BKT All India Open Fide Rating Chess Tournament

Pune, 8th November 2021: A total of 236 players from all over India including 135 rated players will be seen in action at the All India Open Fide Rating Chess Tournament which will be organized by Buddhibal Kreeda Trust and played at Ashwamedh Hall, Karve Road, Pune from 9th to 14th November 2021.

Prakash Kunte, trustee of BKT said that the tournament will be held under the auspices of FIDE, AICF, MCA and PDCC. The event will offer total prize money of Rs.2 lakhs The event will be played under Swiss league format 

A total of 236 Chess Players from Maharashtra, Gujrat, Goa, MP, UP, Delhi, Karnataka have registered for this tournament out of which 135 rated players have a FIDE ELO rating making it one of the strongest tournaments to be held in Pune. Prominent players who have confirmed their entries for the event include IM Vikramaditya Kulkarni(2335, RLY), WGM Swati Ghate(2170,LIC), Aditya Samant(winner State Open Rapid Rating Chess Tournament), Saurabh Kherdekar(2246).  

The winner will get Rs 50,000, while runner up will get Rs 30,000 and the 3rd prize Rs. 20,000. Prizes will also be offered to rated players between 1401-1600, 1201-1400, 1000-1200 players, Best underrated players, Best veteran player, best women player and first three players under 10,12, 14 and The tournament will be inaugurated at the hands of Niranjan Godbole, Secretary of MCA on Tuesday, 9th November 2021 at 9.30 am.
