Pune: 23rd Edition Guru Tegh Bahadur Gold Cup Football Tournament from December 15

Pune, 12th December 2024: The 23rd edition of Guru Tegh Bahadur Football Tournament, which is being organized by Guru Tegh Bahadur Sports Foundation (GTBSF) with 349th martyrdom of Guru Shri Tegh Bahadur Sahib.

Mr.SS Ahluwalia, MJF Lion Rani Ahluwalia said that, The year 2024 marked 349 years since Guru Teh Bahadur was killed.The tournament will be held from December 15th to 22nd, 2024 at its usual venue, the Range Hills Sports ground, Khadki . Mr.Pyarelal Chaudhary, VP of PDFA, PDG MJF CA Abhay Shastri, Mr.Vitthal Kute, President of Lions Club Poona Kothrud, Mr.Daljit Singh, Secretary of Gurudwara Gurunanak Darbar, Savita Rasote, Secretary of Lions Club Poona Kothrud were present on the occasion.

A total 27 teams which included Khadki Blues, Sanghvi FC, Last Year Winner Durga FC, Infants, City FC, Rahul FC, Puneri Warriors, UKM, Galactic Warriors, Dynamites FC, Sai FC, Beta FC, Pioneer FC, Navmaharashtra, Ashoka FC, Giants FC, Rangehills Milan in the junior category, while in the senior category included Thundercatz, Aryans, GOG, Indrayani FC, City Police, UKM A, UKM B, Rupali FC, Sigmay FC and Blue Stag will be seen in action. The tournament will be played under knockout basis. The prestigious tournament will be open for teams from 2nd and 3rd divisions, senior and Super divisions. The event will be played in Senior Category, Womens Category. The tournament will offer a total prize money of Rs.1,50,000/-.

There will be a separate tournament for women’s teams too. Besides handsome cash prizes, footballs, bags, medals to all winners and runners up teams, each participating player will be given a certificate of participation, said Mr. Ahluwalia. All those involved in the organising committee worked relentlessly as if it was seva for Guru Tegh Bahadur sahib.”
