Pune: 24,000 Seats Still Vacant Under RTE Admission, Dates Extended Till July 13

Pune, 9th July 2022: Under the Right to Education Act (RTE), admission of 77,780 students has been confirmed from the selection as well as waiting list under the 25% reserved seats. However, there are still 24,126 vacancies for RTE admissions and the students on the waiting list have been given an extension till July 13 to confirm their admissions.

Under RTE, students from economically weaker and deprived sections are given admission in 25% reserved seats. This year 1.191 lakh seats were available in 9086 schools in the Maharashtra state for which 82 lakh students had applied.

After the completion of the admission process of the students who confirmed their admission in the draw; the admission of the students from the waiting list started.

However, there are still more than 24,000 vacancies. Therefore, the deadline for admission of students on the waiting list has been extended till July 13, informed Primary Education Director Dinkar Patil.
