Pune: 2,833 Police Personnel To Participate In Maharashtra State Police Sports Competition From Tomorrow

Pune, 6th January 2023: The Maharashtra State Police Sports Tournament will begin on Saturday (7th January). 2,833 police personnel of the state will participate in 18 different sports. The tournament has been organized at the State Reserve Police Force (SRPF) ground in Wanowrie.

A team consisting of athletes from Pune city and the Pimpri-Chinchwad Police Commissionerate will also participate in the competition as one unit. The tournament has been organized till 13th February.

Pune Police Commissionerate has got the honor of organizing the 33rd State Police Sports Tournament. The competition has been organized under the guidance of Director General of Police Rajnish Seth. 18 sports, including wrestling, boxing, swimming, weightlifting, bodybuilding, outdoor sports, football, and bodybuilding will be included in this competition.

State Additional Director General of Police (Administration) Anup Kumar Singh informed in a press conference that a total of 2,833 police personnel will participate in this tournament, including male and female players.

Pune Police Commissioner Retesh Kumaarr, Joint Commissioner of Police Sandeep Karnik, Additional Commissioner of Police (admin) Jalinder Supekar, and Special Inspector General of Police of SRPF Deepak Sakore were also present on this occasion.

Chief Minister Eknath Shinde will inaugurate the tournament on 11th January while Deputy Chief Minister and Home Minister Devendra Fadnavis will be present for the concluding ceremony.
