Pune: 31,000 Women Together Chant Atharvashirsh Once Again After Covid Pandemic

Pune, 1st September 2022: In a joint initiative by Shreemant Dagdusheth Halwai Public Ganapati Trust and Suvarnayug Tarun Mandal, 31,000 women recited Atharvashirsh in front of Utsav Mandap on the occasion of Rishi Panchami early morning today. While chanting the name of Ganesha, women felt the bliss of the auspicious morning. After a long wait of two years, Ganesh devotees experienced the ceremony in Ganeshotsav.

Renowned singer Anuradha Paudwal, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone 1) Dr Priyanka Naranvare, Trust’s Mahesh Suryavanshi, Suvarnayug Mandal President Prakash Chavan, Yatish Rasane, Mangesh Suryavanshi, Balasaheb Satpute, Mauli Rasane, Activity Head Shubhangi Bhalerao, Archana Bhalerao were present on this occasion. This year marks the 35th year of the Atharvashirsha reading initiative.

 

Anuradha Paudwal said, “I have recited Soundarya Lahari composed by Jagadguru Shankaracharya. Religion needs to be strengthened. Therefore, let us all perform this reading together.”

DCP Naranvare said, “The process of good upbringing is carried out due to female power in every house. Dagdusheth Ganapati Trust is doing great work and this will surely inspire others to work for the society.”

 

Women in traditional dress gathered at the Utsav Mandap to chant Atharvashirsh since dawn. The area from Utsav Mandap to Hutatma Chowk was filled with a queue of women. Women bowed to Ganapati by chanting Omkar and reciting the main Atharvashirsh.

 

Students of the Trust’s Jai Ganesh Parenting Scheme greeted the freedom fighters with information boards in their hands. Also, Prathamesh Karle broke the Dahi handi of Suvarnayug Tarun Mandal and was honoured by the Govindas Trust of Ganesh Mitra Mandal in Kasba Peth with a medal, Maharashtra and Rs 25,000. The program ended with Aarti.
