Pune: 34 COVID positive patients in one family in Khadki area

Pune, June 17, 2020: In a first of its kind case in Pune, about 34 family members from Khadki are found to be affected together by coronavirus disease (COVID-19). This has caused an uproar and worries for Khadki Cantonment Board (KCB) officials, as already the number of COVID patients has been on the rise.

Upon that this may be the first such case in Pune where a large number of people from the same family have been tested positive. All the family members were living in one building, given the fact the area has now been declared a containment zone.

On June 13, one of the senior members of the family was tested positive. After which the swabs of around 45 family members were taken for lab tests. Following which 10 were found positive on Monday, and rest 24 were declared positive today. The administration has sprayed disinfectant in the building and the area has been sealed declaring it a containment zone.
