Pune: 3,765 Criminals Checked, 145 Koyta And Pistol Seized During ‘Combing Operation’

Pune, 10th January 2023: Ahead of the ‘G20’ conference and increasing incidents of terror in Pune, the police interrogated 3,765 criminals in the city. The police conducted a special operation in the middle of the night and interrogated the criminals. In the investigation, 698 criminals were found to be living at the same address. Pistols, cartridges, and 145 koyta were seized from them.

 

On the order of Police Commissioner Retesh Kumaarr, Joint Commissioner of Police Sandeep Karnik, a team of Additional Commissioner Rajendra Dahale, Ranjan Kumar Sharma, Ramnath Pokle, DCPs Amol Zende, Sandeep Singh Gill, Smartana Patil, Suhail Sharma, Shashikant Borate, Vikrant Deshmukh, Vijay Kumar Magar along with other officials carried out the operation.

The police conducted a search operation in the hotels, lodges, ST bus stands, and railway station area of the city. Sinhagad road police arrested Nilesh Shivaji Gaikwad (35), a resident of the Dhayari area, and seized a country-made pistol and one cartridge. 43 people were arrested in the case of possession of illegal weapons. Weapons like 145 Koyta and swords were seized from them.

 

The Anti-Narcotics Squad raided an illegal hookah parlour in Kondhwa and arrested the owner of the hookah parlour, Shahrukh Haru Shaikh (25). In this operation, the police seized hookah pots and aromatic tobacco. Two people were arrested in the case of the illegal sale of Nylon Manja. Police arrested 88 people in case of possession of illegal weapons.
