38 employees of wholesale medical store in Sadashiv Peth test COVID positive

Pune, May 17, 2020: A shocking case of Coronavirus infection of 38 employees of a wholesale drug shop in Pune’s Sadashiv Peth, came to light on Saturday. They used to deliver medicines to small and large medical stores in the city. Anil Belkar, secretary of the Chemists’ Association, said that 38 people from the same shop and five others from another shop in Pune were infected with Corona.

The situation in Pune, which is one of the hotspots in the state, is still worrisome. A total of 202 positive patients were found in Pune city on Saturday. Eleven people have died. With this, the number of COVID 19 patients has increased to 3295. The death toll has risen to 185.

Meanwhile, 68 people have been released after receiving negative reports. So far, 1698 patients have been recovered from Corona in Pune. There is an atmosphere of fear and anxiety in the city, as the infection has affected workers who supplied medicines to retail medical shops.
