Pune: 40 People Cheated Of Lakhs Of Rupees In Lure Of Getting Gift Vouchers

Junnar, 16th August 2022: Five agents including the director of Anantara Hospitality and Red Season Holiday Company have been arrested for cheating a young man of Rs one lakh by luring him with a gift voucher.

Assistant Police Inspector Prithviraj Tate informed that all of them have been remanded in police custody for five days by the Junnar court.

 

Aftaf Irfan Pathan, director and agent of Anantara Hospitality and Red Season Holiday Company, Shweta Virendrakumar Jaiswal, Snehal Virendrakumar Jaiswal, Sandeep Ramesh Gupta, Vijay Chandrapal Mebati, all are the residents of Mumbai have been arrested in this case. The complaint in this regard has been given by Vishal Baban Saste (27), a resident of Kolwadi, Madh, taluka Junnar.

 

According to the information given by Tate, Vishal Sashte said. From April 28, 2022, to August 13, 2022, Vishal was contacted via mobile from Hotel Tucson in Narayangaon stating that “We are agents of Anantara Hospitality Company and Red Season Holiday Company. We will gift you a gift voucher from our company. In that, we will provide you holiday tickets, a silver idol of Lord Ganesha and kitchen articles etc. at a low price in India.”

After that, Vishal paid Rs one lakh; Rs 40 thousand in cash and Rs 60 thousand via credit card to the accused. Reportedly, this company cheated other people financially and did not provide any facilities to them. The suspected accused were detained and arrested from Hotel Tucson. It is preliminarily estimated that around 30 to 40 people from Junnar and Ambegaon talukas were cheated of lakhs of rupees.

 

In this regard, Assistant Police Inspector Prithviraj Tate has appealed to all the citizens that if they have given money to anyone in such regard then the citizens should report it to the Narayangaon police station.
