Pune: 42-Year-Old Man Killed by PMPML Bus While Crossing Road in Uruli Kanchan

Uruli Kanchan, 11th April 2024: A man died while attempting to cross the road on Tuesday (9th April) when he was struck by a Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Limited (PMPML) bus. The incident occurred in front of the Sahyadri Hotel on the Saswad Pune Highway in Uruli Kanchan. The deceased has been identified as Vishram Bhujang Yadav, a 42-year-old resident of Harni, Purandar.

Kiran Yadav, Vishram’s brother, filed a complaint at the Loni Kalbhor Police Station. The police have registered a case against the PMPML bus driver under the Indian Penal Code (IPC) Sections 279 (rash driving) and 304(A) (causing death by negligence), as well as Sections 183 and 184 of the Motor Vehicles Act.

According to the police report, the PMPML bus driver was operating the bus recklessly without adhering to traffic rules. While crossing the road, Vishram was hit by the speeding bus, sustaining severe injuries. He was rushed to the hospital but was declared dead upon arrival.

The PMPML bus driver has not yet been arrested, and the Loni Kalbhor police are investigating this matter further.
