Pune: 82-Year-Old Grandmother Achieves Dream, Climbs Shivneri Fort – Birthplace of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj
Junnar, 29th December 2023; The indomitable spirit and reverence for Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj recently manifested in a heartwarming story as an 82-year-old grandmother fulfilled her long-cherished dream of climbing Shivneri Fort, the birthplace of the legendary Maratha king.
Parvatibai Muralidhar Vayal, a resident of Nandur in Ambegaon taluka, had harboured the desire to visit the birthplace of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj throughout her life. However, amidst the hustle and bustle of daily life, she was unable to undertake this pilgrimage. Determined to make her dream come true, her son, Haribhau Vayal, orchestrated a memorable visit to Shivneri Fort.
In an interview with “Maharashtra Times Online,” Parvatabai Vayal expressed her deep satisfaction at personally climbing and traversing Shivneri Fort. She shared the profound sense of energy that enveloped her during the ascent to the fort. The journey held special significance for her, given her lifelong admiration for Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s valour and legacy.
Haribhau Vayal, recounting the experience, mentioned that his mother had never seen Shivneri Fort before and had often expressed her wish to visit. Determined to fulfil her desire, he brought her to Shivneri Fort, where she climbed the historic steps herself. The radiant energy and excitement displayed by Parvatibai left a lasting impression, demonstrating a level of enthusiasm that would put many youths to shame.
